If you were to talk to any average guy or girl off the street about Texas Hold’em poker, they possibly wouldn’t deem online Texas Hold’em to be a game of practice, careful planning, or observation. Possibly when you talk about Texas Hold’em with them, they would perhaps envision some poker buddies sitting around their living room table talking and smoking cigarettes. They also might consider Texas Hold’em to be a game of chance as opposed to talent, closer to a game of roulette rather than chess, for example.

So the big question mark there is: “Can I actually make money by playing poker?”. You might not believe it but, the answer to this question is a definite “yes”. More than a few individuals not only make some money by playing online Texas Hold’em poker, but also make a lot of money by competing in Texas Hold’em. The first thing you need to remember about Texas Hold’em is that even though you can play in a LV casino, beside blackjack tables and slots; in online poker you are not competing against the house but against other online Texas Hold’em poker competitors. So, in truth, you are betting your money against other poker players in a competition of talent rather than a game of chance.

You could be saying to yourself: “Isn’t the game of poker about chance as well?” Naturally in online Texas Hold’em, nobody is aware which hands will be dealt out. That doesn’t automatically imply that one cannot play Texas Hold’em with a reliable quantity of pre-game knowledge. One key point to not forget in Texas Hold’em poker is that numbers can be your best friend. Mathematics plays a rather essential role in the game of online Texas Hold’em. Not to forget, that even if you become rather fortunate time and again the figures always seem to humble you.

Don’t forget that Las Vegas casino table games similar to online Texas Hold’em where you are in reality contending against other real-life contenders CAN be won. One will find that the more you play the game of Texas Hold’em, you will find that it is more of game of ability as opposed to just pure chance.

The time of the poker dealer is coming to a close

Posted under Poker & casino poker & poker dealer

Can you envision walking into a famous Vegas casino and seeing no poker dealers, chips, or poker cards? Well if this seems difficult to believe, you may be in for a big shock. The Las Vegas based casino hotel Excalibur is now testing with this new revolutionary idea of automating everything from the dealers, to the actual poker tables. Chairmen from the casino hotel are going to equip the poker rooms with 12 computer machines for a six-month trial period.
The North-Carolina based company PokerTek is in charge of the computer machines, which are revolutionizing the way poker will be played in Sin City. The business already has 230 machines around the world, with the largest located in Casino du Montreal (a total of 25 computers were installed in this Canadian casino hotel).
So what are the negatives of this modification? For starters, about 40 Excalibur poker dealers will be searching for new places to work. Some of these dealers have been laboring at the hotel since its opening in 1990. Todd DeRemer, Excalibur’s Vice President of Casino Operations, says that the poker dealers will be offered other dealer employment in the same hotel.
According to DeRemer, the modification is being made to give rookie players a chance to play this popular game without feeling intimidated. He had already played these new machines before deciding upon the change. “It’s not intimidating”, he says, “We think that area will bring back the gamblers”.
The enhanced machines will allow the poker players to play Texas hold’em, seven card stud and Omaha. 40-inch flat screen tv’s, which are located in the hub of the table, will illustrate each table’s community cards, poker player’s stakes and the pot.

What Does the Future Hold for Online Poker Room and Casino Players?

Posted under Poker & casino poker & casinos & internet poker & online poker

Playing in online poker rooms and casinos such as Fulltiltpoker.com has been a popular source of fun and entertainment on the Internet since the inception of these types of Internet-based gambling institutions. But with the introduction of any type of gaming and gambling on the Web, the United States government naturally has to do their part and see what type of difficulties they can dole out to these fledgling institutions. With the focus of the United States government on reducing the ability of online poker rooms and casinos ability to conduct business on the Internet, it becomes clear that any type of online poker room and casino that wishes to remain profitable in the future will have to find some way to circumvent these types of restrictive regulations and laws that are continuously being passed by United States legislators and lawmakers. Until some type of workaround is adopted, the profits in online poker rooms and casinos might never again rival the earnings that were seen in the early days of these types of businesses on the web

In the future, it is hard to say what might wait for online poker room and casino players, but it is safe to say that the government doesn’t seem very likely to end the countless amounts of attacks and instances of overzealous regulations that are aimed at online poker rooms and casinos such as Fulltiltpoker.com. With all the attention that the United States government has paid to online poker rooms and casinos and the gambling institutions that are dedicated to conducting business solely through the Internet, it remains very unlikely that the online poker rooms and casinos that are so popular will have a very bright future and the professional Texas Hold’em poker tournament players that enjoy these types of recreational activities will very likely have to move on to other, greener pastures.
In some cases, the future seems bright indeed, as many online poker rooms and casinos have broadened their user base, appealing to a wider audience throughout the international community. But as far as the United States online poker room and casino and their ability to conduct business on United States soil, there is nothing but bad news on the horizon. In fact, the United States government has prepared a tax aimed at the online poker room casino players, the first time any such tax has ever been levied against users of these types of services on the Web.
