Worlds Largest Online Poker Tournament

Posted under internet poker & online poker & poker tournament

Full Tilt Poker will attempt to stamp its name on the Guinness Records and to do so; the site has announced that it will try to set a new record for the Largest Online Poker Tournament. Full Tilt’s Record Breaker tournament was unveiled as the finale to FIVE, a week of events and promotions created exclusively to celebrate the site’s 5th anniversary. The tournament will take place on July 19th at 15:05ET, players can buy in for this event for only $5 or 1000 Full Tilt Points and compete for a share of a $250,000 guaranteed with $250,000 added prize pool. Players can also get entries to this event by playing the online satellites available on the site and starting for as little as 30 cents or 50 Full Tilt Points.

Team Full Tilt pros and WSOP bracelet winners Howard Lederer, Chris Ferguson and Phil Ivey have already confirmed they will take part in the event, offering players the chance to sit down at this historic tournament and play with some of the best high stakes and tournament pros in the world.

“By extending the limits of what is possible in online poker tournaments, Full Tilt Poker will allow players to compete for a big payout without the big buy-in,” said Team Full Tilt member Howard Lederer.

Putting together a poker tournament of this magnitude would be nearly impossible for any brick and mortar casino or poker room. The current record for the largest “live” poker tournament was set at the 2006 WSOP Main Event with 8,772 players. To break the current Guinness Record set by PokeStars.com in December, 2008, Full Tilt Poker will need to attract over 35.000 players. If successful, this tournament will establish Full Tilt Poker as World Record holder and cement its reputation as a world leader in online poker industry.

Ben Affleck Among Supporters of Online Poker

Posted under Poker & internet poker & online poker & poker stars

Shortly after the opening of last week’s charity celebrity poker event to help the Paralyzed Veterans of America, Ben Affleck goes all-in with a flop of Ace-Nine-King and two diamonds. He winces when two of his opponents call the bet. He yells “Re-buy”, but the turn is a seven of hearts. Affleck is upset when a jack of diamonds is dealt on the river. He took the hand seriously even though there was no real cash at stake. This is just the kind of thing that Affleck and several other internet poker enthusiasts are petitioning for.

Over $100,000 was raised for the paralyzed victims, but this was not the only function of the poker game held in Coors Field. Members of the Poker Players Alliance are working very hard to legalize online poker in the United States. As part of their agenda, they are pushing to repeal the 2006 legislation Congress passed which prohibits U.S. Banks and credit card companies from processing transactions related to internet gaming websites.

John Pappas, executive director of the Poker Players Alliance, is optimistic about the direction that the new congress will lead this decision. Pappas says that the alliance is pushing for a licensed industry, just for online poker, and not for all online gambling. Pappas is interested in having a safe, regulated industry that all Americans can enjoy. The group is fighting for the rights of people and the privacy they deserve in their own home.

“There are misconceptions about poker and about online poker,” poker pro Andy Bloch said in between hands during the charity celebrity poker tournament. “Some people think that internet gaming is gambling like a slot machine, and it’s not.”

Online Poker Rakeback

Posted under Poker & internet poker & poker rakeback

As the nature of online poker rooms and casinos and the rakeback sharing affiliate programs that they offer changes in response to the government regulations that are aimed at these types of industries, online poker room and casino players must change with them in order to effectively keep the online action going in the long term.

Competing against other human players in online poker rooms and casinos on the Internet such as Fulltiltpoker.com is an exhilarating and exciting way to win and earn income on the web for skilled players who can successfully muscle out the competition and out strategize their opponents consistently enough to build a strong revenue source from these types of internet poker rooms and casinos.  In the earliest days of these types of online poker rooms, players were satisfied just to be able to compete. Naturally, no player wishes to see the end of the online poker rakeback sharing affiliate program, but there is a very likely chance that this is exactly what might happen.  With the continuous regulations from the government, it is nearly impossible to predict what type of new legislation might come down the pike from the powers that be in Washington DC.

Leading the charge, industry behemoths such as Fulltiltpoker.com have begun to offer tremendous amounts of rakeback affiliate programs and online poker room deposit bonus programs that keep players continuously coming into these types of poker rooms on the Internet. In fact, it is very likely that the poker rakeback sharing affiliate program will be completely different and require online poker room players to completely change the way that they go about competing in online poker rooms and casinos such as Fulltiltpoker.com and collecting residual income from the rakeback programs that are available in these Internet-based cash poker tournaments and games.

But as the laws and regulations that govern the Internet gambling establishments change, the rakeback sharing affiliate programs begin to adapt and become something completely different over time.  What the rakeback sharing affiliate program might look like at some point in the future is unknown, but it will certainly be different than what currently exists. But as time passed on, more and more promotions hit the table and were offered to players as an incentive not only to continue playing, but also to recruit other players into the poker rooms and casinos.

Important paths in online poker.

Posted under Poker & internet poker & online poker & poker tips

If I told you every hard decision in poker was actually an easy decision would you believe me? Probably not, but if you believe in your 6th sense and have inner balance and control then you can hear and listen to your gut feeling and follow through with your gut feeling. Your gut feeling or intuition can be your best friend if you trust in it, trust it and listen to it. Your inner self is that first feeling you get, the majority of people never believe or trust in there gut feeling and dismiss the feeling as just a thought and then think more and end up with no real confident answer or decision.

Everyone knows that one guy that seems to just seem to float through life and always gets so lucky, well that guy probably listens to his intuition. He’s probably laid back, never really worried or never panics just always seems so sure.

Your inner self isn’t the solution to all your problems and your gut feeling isn’t always right, just because your gut feeling isn’t always right it’s not correct to stop listening to it, you need to understand that your gut feeling is the best tool that will help your more times then not, so listen to it unconditionally.

You have most likely heard the miracle stories about cows sensing stuff before it happens, or animals acting weird or behaving weird before major events happen. This is because animals rely on 6th sense, they trust and rely on instinct for survival. They don’t have time to thoroughly think things through or contemplate, they feel there gut trust it and react on it.

This is not to say that you shouldn’t think about decisions or problems and should just do what your first intuition is, because evaluation is an important and critical part of the decision making process. Going over all the variables presented to you to come up with a conclusion. So evaluation is important and should be done, but you should be able to feel your first natural instinct and let it play a major role in your decision making process. You should give your gut feeling the biggest overall value on the list of variables that you consider when making a decision.

For the majority of people they will never be able to tap into there inner self or will never be able to know when they hear it or feel it, this is because in order to hear and listen your gut feeling you need to have balance in your mind and body, you need to have emotional control over yourself, you need to be in touch with your feelings. Everyone has instinct and gut feeling so if you don’t know what your gut feeling is it’s probably because your mind is clouded and cannot clearly identify when your gut feeling kicks in and talks to you.

Being able to hear and listen to your gut feeling can become a very powerful tool in your online poker playing, you have to listen to your gut though, the first instinct or thought you have is usually always the correct decision. Your mind is a powerful database more powerful then any computer and has a hard drive that stores every hand you play, every bet that people make, every situation that happens. So your gut feeling is usually what the mind feels based on your database of similar online poker situations.

So practice listening to your self, identify when your gut tells you something and believe in it and use it in life, use it on the Texas Hold’em poker tables. Hopefully this will help you improve your Hold’em game and make you a better player.
