Posted under Poker & las vegas casinos & poker games

Harrahs, operator of the World Series of Poker 2010, has released the official events list for the 41st annual WSOP set to start from May 27th, 2010 with the Casino Employees No-Limit Hold’em, and final events on November 9th, 2010 with the Main Event Table.

The WSOP event schedule features a total of 57 bracelets events, including three brand new poker events ($50,000 Player’s Championship Event #2, $10,000 H.O.R.S.E Event #43, World Championship, $25,000 6-Handed No-Limit tournament Event #52). The 2010 WSOP schedule of events includes a few alterations, for example, the $50.000 H.O.R.S.E event has been substituted with the $50,000 “Player’s Championship” (Event #2), featuring eight different poker games (Limit Hold’em, Omaha Hi-Low Split-8 or Better, Seven Card Razz, Seven Card Stud, Seven Card Stud Hi-Low Split-8 or Better, No-Limit Hold’em, Pot-Limit Omaha, 2-7 Triple Draw Lowball).

The opening 5 weekends of the series (May 29-30, June 5-6, June 12-13, June 19-20 and June 26-27) will highlight $1,000 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em tournaments with two initial flights. In addition, a sixth event schedule on July 1-2, will also offer the same event at the same buy-in level. The 41st annual WSOP 2010 will finalize on Monday, July 5th with the $10,000 No-Limit Hold’em Championship Main Event. The Main Event will be interrupted on July 17th, and will continue on four months later with the “November Nine” final table playing from November 6th-9th

Other variations slated for the World Series of Poker consist of a number of new regulations that will control the daily amount of play, and the addition of more poker tables. According to the WSOP official site, the whole convention center of the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino will be commited to the World Series of Poker 2010, with tournament tables in the 58,000 square foot Pavilion and the 38,000 square foot Amazon Room.

The WSOP 2010 is also giving players over five months to register for the first event on the WSOP 2010 schedule. Pre-registration for the WSOP is offered at the Main Cage of the Rio and online at the World World Series of Poker 2010 site. Sign-up for all bracelet poker events will remain open until the start of the third level (approximately 2 hours, 20 minutes after start time) or until all seats are sold.

“Whatever your game and whatever your bankroll, the 2010 WSOP schedule offers something for everyone. We are planning for the largest WSOP ever and look forward to welcoming all players to the Rio in Las Vegas next summer.” said WSOP Tournament Director Jack Effel.

Is it Possible to Make Money by Playing Poker?

Posted under casino poker & las vegas casinos & las vegas poker

poker tournament
If you were to talk to any average guy or girl off the street about Texas Hold’em poker, they possibly wouldn’t deem online Texas Hold’em to be a game of practice, careful planning, or observation. Possibly when you talk about Texas Hold’em with them, they would perhaps envision some poker buddies sitting around their living room table talking and smoking cigarettes. They also might consider Texas Hold’em to be a game of chance as opposed to talent, closer to a game of roulette rather than chess, for example.

So the big question mark there is: “Can I actually make money by playing poker?”. You might not believe it but, the answer to this question is a definite “yes”. More than a few individuals not only make some money by playing online Texas Hold’em poker, but also make a lot of money by competing in Texas Hold’em. The first thing you need to remember about Texas Hold’em is that even though you can play in a LV casino, beside blackjack tables and slots; in online poker you are not competing against the house but against other online Texas Hold’em poker competitors. So, in truth, you are betting your money against other poker players in a competition of talent rather than a game of chance.

You could be saying to yourself: “Isn’t the game of poker about chance as well?” Naturally in online Texas Hold’em, nobody is aware which hands will be dealt out. That doesn’t automatically imply that one cannot play Texas Hold’em with a reliable quantity of pre-game knowledge. One key point to not forget in Texas Hold’em poker is that numbers can be your best friend. Mathematics plays a rather essential role in the game of online Texas Hold’em. Not to forget, that even if you become rather fortunate time and again the figures always seem to humble you.

Don’t forget that Las Vegas casino table games similar to online Texas Hold’em where you are in reality contending against other real-life contenders CAN be won. One will find that the more you play the game of Texas Hold’em, you will find that it is more of game of ability as opposed to just pure chance.

Las Vegas Sands Corporation Makes Record Investment into Internationally Based Casinos

Posted under Poker & las vegas casinos & las vegas poker

With all the investment in international and global markets by Las Vegas hotels and casinos, it only makes sense for the Las Vegas area corporation to get in on the act. But while the Steve Wynn group members were content with establishing casinos and staying the course of normal business, the Las Vegas Sands Corporation has interest only in the construction of what they refer to as integrated structures, super casinos that feature all manner of Independent businesses in a central location that appeal to international travelers. Going on the theory that very few world travelers will be motivated to travel across the world to gamble, but will quickly add locations to their travelogue that feature a wealth of shopping and other types of entertainment and dining experiences, the Las Vegas Sands Corporation has created this exact type of atmosphere, luring visitors from all around the world and tempting them to part with their hard-earned money at the gambling and gaming tables. With the available shopping, restaurants and high profile activities, these super casinos are expected to do very well.

With the continued focus on the expansion of Texas Hold’em poker tournaments into the international community and the construction of more and more poker rooms and casinos, it is clear that the Las Vegas hotel and casino operations companies such as the Steve Wynn group and the Las Vegas Sands corporation that have invested into these markets are focused on maximizing the revenues from the global community to the fullest extent. By exploiting the explosion of popularity of Texas Hold’em poker tournaments in the global community, these types of Las Vegas hotels and casinos that have traditionally operated inside the United States have opened themselves up to a whole new world of profit, taking advantage of the worldwide popularity of Texas Hold’em poker tournaments and games, as well as other types of gambling such as blackjack and roulette. Establishing this entirely new presence in a strange world is not without its financial risks however. The Las Vegas Sands Corporation was forced to take out loans totaling $3.3 billion from eight different lending institutions. This staggering amount of liquid capital required for the construction of these types of massive super casinos is par for the course, however, as the high-stakes and highly competitive world of gaming and gambling continues to expand into the global market.
